Lancaster's combined Spanish Studies and Philosophy program is delivered through collaboration between the Department of Languages and Cultures and the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion.
The Spanish Studies component enables you to develop advanced linguistic abilities while gaining comprehensive insight into Spanish-speaking societies within a worldwide framework. In Philosophy, you'll foster your own analytical viewpoint on philosophical issues, learning various approaches to examine, critically evaluate, and debate these concepts.
During your first year, you'll examine Spanish language and culture while being introduced to fundamental philosophical dilemmas and their corresponding theories. Additionally, you'll select a minor subject to complement these studies.
In your second year, you'll enhance your language proficiency while delving deeper into the cultural, political, and historical aspects of Spanish-speaking nations. You'll also have access to globally-focused modules that encourage comparative analysis of European and international contexts, alongside a diverse selection of philosophy courses.
