A combined Philosophy and Politics degree enables you to examine and discuss fundamental philosophical inquiries like What constitutes a good life? Does a divine being exist? while simultaneously investigating the key ideas, themes, and historical developments that influence modern politics. Taught by subject experts, you'll gain insights into current debates across both disciplines. This includes questions such as: What responsibilities do citizens owe to their government? Can abstract concepts transform society? How should we approach ethical dilemmas and distinguish between truth and falsehood?
Your academic journey starts with foundational first-year courses like Philosophy Fundamentals and Modern Political Systems. During subsequent years, particularly the second and fourth, you can select from diverse electives including Middle Eastern Politics and History, Global Relations, Security and Environmental Studies, Development Politics and Worldwide Transformations, Core Economic Principles, Contemporary Political and Philosophical Challenges. Additional course information is available on the PPR department's official website.
