The German Studies with Italian program is offered by the Department of Languages and Cultures. This curriculum enables students to develop advanced language competencies while deeply understanding German cultures and societies from a worldwide perspective. The course additionally provides foundational insights into Italian culture and society during the first year, with opportunities to expand this understanding in subsequent years.
During your initial year, you'll examine the German language within its cultural framework. Simultaneously, you'll undertake an intensive introductory module in Italian language and culture, tailored for those with minimal or no prior experience. You'll also select an optional minor subject.
In your second year, you'll delve deeper into German-speaking cultures, political systems, and historical developments, while choosing internationally-focused courses that foster comparative analysis of European and global contexts. Through core Italian components, you'll enhance your language skills across various contexts while studying vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
