The French Studies with Italian program is offered by the Department of Languages and Cultures. Our unique methodology helps you develop advanced language competencies while gaining comprehensive insights into French and Italian cultures within a worldwide framework.
During your first year, you'll examine the French language and its cultural background. Simultaneously, you'll undertake an intensive introductory course in Italian language and culture, tailored for complete beginners. Additionally, you can select a minor subject of interest.
In your second year, you'll delve deeper into French culture, politics, and history while choosing internationally-focused courses that foster comparative perspectives on Europe and other regions. Core Italian classes will enhance your language skills across various contexts, covering vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
Your third year abroad in a French-speaking environment significantly boosts language fluency and cultural awareness. Options include studying at a partner university or completing a professional placement. We highly encourage incorporating an Italian experience into your academic journey as well.
