Lancaster's combined French Studies and Mathematics program is delivered through a collaboration between the Department of Languages and Cultures and the Mathematics and Statistics Department.
The French Studies component enables you to develop advanced linguistic abilities while thoroughly examining the nation's historical, cultural, social, and political landscape within a worldwide framework. In Mathematics, you'll delve into comprehensive mathematical principles and applications, with opportunities to focus on pure mathematics or statistical analysis.
During your initial year, you'll investigate French language and culture alongside fundamental Mathematics courses. Additionally, you can select a secondary subject to complement your studies.
In your second year, you'll enhance your language proficiency while examining Francophone culture, politics, and history more intensively. You'll also choose internationally-focused modules that foster comparative insights into Europe and other regions, while continuing your Mathematics coursework.
