Immerse yourself in our exceptional facilities, discover our picturesque campus, join global field excursions, and learn from internationally acclaimed professors while developing a thorough, practical knowledge of French language, culture, and society.

This dynamic program provides an in-depth exploration of geography while equipping you with the competencies needed to excel in the field, culminating in a placement year in a Francophone nation. Over four years, you'll benefit from the combined expertise of two specialized departments: Languages and Cultures and the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC).

Nestled between the serene northern countryside and vibrant urban centers like Liverpool and Manchester, Lancaster's prime location offers access to some of Britain's most remarkable geographic sites. You'll acquire extensive practical experience through field visits to destinations including the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbrian coastline, Lake District, and international locations like Croatia.

Your first-year geography courses will establish core principles of human geography. These foundational modules introduce essential geographical concepts while teaching analytical techniques applicable to both human and physical geography. Concurrently, tailored language instruction from native speakers will strengthen your written and oral French proficiency, customized to your current skill level.
