Lancaster's Film and Theatre degree, offered through the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA), allows you to explore modern theatrical performance while delving into film history and theory.

The Film program at Lancaster delivers a dynamic and thought-provoking curriculum focused on in-depth film analysis. You'll examine cinematic history, explore films' cultural impact, and master film production techniques. Throughout your three years, you'll have chances to create short films while selecting from specialized courses that build skills for media careers, advertising, marketing, or further academic pursuits.

Lancaster's Theatre program introduces groundbreaking 20th and 21st century performances through both theoretical study and hands-on practice. You'll acquire valuable creative and analytical abilities suitable for theatre professions and beyond. The program begins with foundational courses like Introduction to Film Studies and Introduction to Theatre Studies, progressing to advanced topics including Global Cinema, Performance Composition, and LICA's interdisciplinary Critical Reflections module in your second year.

Required Subjects Film, Media, Theatre, Drama, Dance or Performance are considered desirable but applications from those studying other subjects who can demonstrate experience and interest in practical theatre are welcomed

IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component. TOEFL IBT - 87 overall, minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 17 in speaking and 20 in writing, Cambridge English: Advanced CAE 176 overall with at least 162 in each element.
