This two-year program is perfect for licensed adult nurses with prior degree-level education who want to acquire the expertise required to become NMC-registered midwives.
Clinical skills training receives strong focus, and we strive to align your practical placements with your coursework, helping you bridge academic knowledge with real-world application. You'll collaborate with midwives in both hospital and community settings, supporting expectant mothers and birthing individuals along with their families throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care.
Your instructors will include seasoned midwives, healthcare professionals, and NHS specialists. The curriculum covers midwifery principles and application, encompassing diverse topics that form the scientific foundation of midwifery - from maternal and newborn physiology to health education, ethical/legal considerations, and research methodologies.

Qualification Requirements
Registration as an Adult Nurse (RNA) on the NMC Professional Register for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors (Parts 1 and 10). Candidates pursuing the MMid strand must have achieved a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing at grade 2.2 or above and have a minimum of six months post registration experience.
Non-native speakers who do not have the equivalent of GCSE English at grade 4 (formerly grade C) or an equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 Literacy) require an Academic IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent overall and at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections.
