Kingston School of Art's innovative MFA in Fine Art provides a distinctive combination of practical studio work and theoretical study. Throughout this program, you'll refine your artistic skills while examining how your work fits within evolving social, political, and cultural landscapes. Students can enroll in an art theory course through the prestigious Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP) and experiment with various media using the School's state-of-the-art workshop facilities.

This research-driven, studio-focused program helps you cultivate your artistic voice while exploring collaborative approaches, enabling you to produce impactful work that establishes your identity as a professional artist.

From the beginning, you'll create self-directed projects supported by one-on-one tutorials, seminar discussions, and hands-on workshops.

The program allows you to build a substantial portfolio that demonstrates your engagement with contemporary fine art concepts and practices.

With an emphasis on student-led learning, you'll pursue independent projects while also investigating collaborative creation and exhibition methods. You'll develop artistic and curatorial approaches applicable to contemporary art and wider cultural spheres. Regular lectures, studio seminars, and personal tutorials will connect you with working artists, curators, writers, and gallery professionals as you investigate the challenges of creating art in today's world.
