This program allows students to examine worldwide phenomena like imperial histories or concentrate on specific regions. For over 100 years, King's College London has played a pivotal role in global historical scholarship. Initially a hub for British imperial studies in the 1920s, it has since emerged as a premier institution for Global and Transnational History research. Alongside core training in historical methodologies and global perspectives, our program enables customization through elective modules from other King's departments or partner institutions like UCL, Queen Mary, and Royal Holloway. Graduates have pursued diverse careers in academia, education, media, finance, government, and cultural fields.

Key advantages:
• Consistently ranked among the world's top history departments - 3rd in the UK for research impact (REF 2021) and top 10 in Europe (QS 2024)
• Outstanding graduate outcomes, with King's ranked 7th in the UK for employability (THE 2024)
• Unparalleled global scope, offering modules covering all inhabited continents - one of the UK's most comprehensive history departments with particular strengths in South Asian, Australian, African, Latin American, Caribbean, and North American studies
• Leading center for European maritime empire research with renowned specialists in multiple global regions
