Establish the groundwork for a career as a public health professional dedicated to enhancing wellness and preventing illness across individuals, families, communities, and populations. You'll evaluate public health frameworks, principles of health protection, and enhancement approaches while learning to address disparities and develop crucial statistical, research, and leadership competencies. Public health focuses on addressing broader factors influencing health outcomes. This program will provide you with the necessary skills to implement public health concepts effectively. Launched in 1989, the Master of Public Health (MPH) is globally recognized for its interdisciplinary approach and alignment with the World Health Organization's (WHO) Health for All ideals. By examining intricate health and social care structures, you'll investigate both current and historical impacts on public health systems. The curriculum covers fundamental health protection concepts, the progression of health promotion strategies, and societal elements contributing to health inequities. Through hands-on experience with sophisticated statistical analysis and epidemiological methods, you'll explore qualitative research approaches and gain foundational knowledge in management theory and application. The MPH program serves as a key element in approved training initiatives for Health Education North West (HENW), preparing students for UK Faculty of Public Health Part A certification exams. Upon completion, you'll be equipped for diverse leadership and management positions in public health research, practice, and policymaking. Part-time duration: 24 to 36 months.
