King's provides a vibrant academic community in central London, where you'll learn from world-class scholars. Our Comparative Literature program covers 10 languages across 5 continents, exploring literary traditions spanning more than two millennia. The curriculum reaches beyond European classics to include works from the Americas, Middle East, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Annually, two Film Studies components deepen your understanding of cinematic theory, creative media applications, and film's societal role. This three-year Comparative Literature with Film Studies BA program consists of 360 credits, with 120 credits completed each year.
Your first year establishes foundational knowledge through modules on Comparative Literature's core concepts, analytical techniques, and theoretical frameworks. Two film studies courses complement this introduction.
During years two and three, you'll select from required and elective modules to specialize in your preferred research direction.
Elective options mirror faculty research specialties, enabling focused study in niche areas.
The program includes potential international study opportunities. Qualified third-year students may study at partner institutions in the USA, Italy, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, or France.
