Subject areas encompass biochemical, biological, biomedical, and life sciences, covering diverse topics such as mammalian molecular biology, molecular medicine, epigenetics, proteomics, physiology, structural biology, protein biochemistry, analytical biochemistry, clinical biochemistry, and neuroscience. Clinical Biochemistry research spans from purely clinical applications to fundamental science, with a strong focus on translating discoveries "from bench to bedside." The research areas mirror those mentioned above, including molecular biology, epigenetics, and various biochemistry disciplines. Collaboration is emphasized across four key locations: University Hospital of North Staffordshire, RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, Haywood Hospital, and Keele University campus. State-of-the-art research facilities are housed in specialized laboratories within the Huxley Building (School of Life Sciences), Guy Hilton Research Centre (Hartshill Hospital site), and RJAH Oswestry, including the Keele Proteomics Facility. Note that UK visa rules typically require overseas fee-paying students to enroll full-time unless they are Distance Learners.
