The Institute of Photonics and Quantum Sciences conducts extensive research spanning photonic physics, engineering photonics, and quantum sciences. We foster interdisciplinary collaboration between theoretical and experimental approaches in these fields, developing robust solutions for modern academic challenges and industry partnerships.

Our program provides numerous dynamic research possibilities, featuring institutional initiatives alongside joint doctoral opportunities through two EPSRC Centres for Doctoral Training focused on Applied Photonics and Condensed Matter studies.
