The MSc in Global Environmental Change and Policy is designed for bachelor's graduates in earth/environmental sciences or related fields who aspire to influence sustainability policies. This program provides interdisciplinary leadership and communication training to address complex global challenges. You'll acquire integrated theoretical, practical, and communication skills to analyze and solve problems related to climate change, societal issues, and policy formulation. The curriculum covers earth system science fundamentals, enabling you to develop resilient solutions for businesses, governments, and communities. You'll examine socioeconomic factors, marine environment policies, ethical considerations, and health/safety concerns while learning comprehensive problem-solving approaches. This professionally-oriented master's enhances technical, analytical, scientific, and leadership competencies for careers in academia, industry, government, and NGOs within the marine science sector.
A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree or non-UK equivalent in a subject such as earth, marine or environmental science. Proficiency in numeracy is an advantage. Degrees with evidence of understanding conservation, ecology, biology, geology, chemistry or microbiology will also be considered. If your first language is not English, we'll need to see evidence of your English language ability. The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5. TOEFL iBT: 79 (including reading 18, listening 17, speaking 20, and writing 21).
