The Photography Programme at The Glasgow School of Art is globally recognized for its outstanding quality. Launched in 1982, it pioneered as Europe's first BA(Hons) Degree program specializing in Fine Art Photography, nurturing numerous accomplished alumni who have become influential figures in the industry.

We believe photography's emergence coincided with the dawn of the modern era. The rapid progress during the industrial and post-industrial revolutions propelled photography from its basic photomechanical origins to today's cutting-edge digital advancements.

Thus, photography inherently combines artistic expression with technical innovation. This unique fusion of conceptual depth, visual sensibility, and technical proficiency establishes photography as one of today's most significant artistic mediums.
