Diagnostic radiographers create and analyze images of internal body structures using advanced technologies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds. This program prepares students to become expert radiographers with strong technical knowledge, outstanding professional qualities, and a commitment to excellent patient care, equipping them to work collaboratively and adaptively in today's diverse healthcare settings. Upon completion, graduates will be qualified practitioners eligible for HCPC registration. The curriculum meets all professional accreditation standards and aligns with the Health and Care Professions Council's 2013 Proficiency Guidelines. Additionally, the program develops professionals who demonstrate: empathy and kindness, respect for patients, transparency and integrity, dedication to excellence, and collaborative skills - reflecting the Scottish Government's 2017 vision for enhancing NHS Scotland healthcare services.
