Serving as key members of healthcare teams, Pediatric Nurses provide specialized nursing services to children and their families from infancy through adolescence. These nurses work across diverse environments, from critical care units and residential settings to international disaster response scenarios. Collaborative education with students from various healthcare disciplines enhances understanding of interdisciplinary roles and cultivates teamwork abilities. Nursing students complete clinical rotations in multiple settings, such as the modern Glasgow Children's Hospital, community health services, and school health programs. These practical experiences are complemented by theoretical instruction and hands-on training in GCU's advanced interprofessional simulation facility. Students may pursue global placement opportunities, with recent participants gaining experience in countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Bangladesh. Central to Pediatric Nursing is the collaborative approach with children, adolescents, their families, and other care providers to ensure comprehensive, safe, and family-focused treatment. Upon completing the program, graduates become registered Children's Nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
