From reaction kinetics to nanomaterials, chemistry explores the composition of substances that form our world. As an educator, you'll motivate students to appreciate their scientific studies and discover how chemistry explains the world around them. Our one-year PGCE program equips you to teach chemistry within the secondary science curriculum for ages 11-16. We'll guide you throughout your journey as you progress toward leading your own classroom. Our faculty will introduce essential teaching methodologies and theoretical foundations to help you become a skilled, self-assured secondary chemistry teacher. You'll receive ongoing support from your Personal Tutor, along with advice from your specialist mentor and placement supervisor during teaching practice.

A degree equivalent to UK first-class or second-class honours (2:2 or above) in a relevant subject. Other subjects may be considered if you have an A Level in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification).
GCSE English Language or English Literature and GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or Grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualification).
Satisfactory levels of information and communications technology competence.
