Combining academic study with hands-on experience and field trips to historical locations, this course familiarizes you with the breadth and depth of history as a subject for students aged 11-16. The program focuses on strengthening both your content expertise and teaching methods as you explore strategies for making history come alive in educational settings.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Durham University along with a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status. The QTS component is accredited by Newcastle University and granted by the Department of Education.
