The PGCE Secondary Biology program prepares you to be a self-assured Early Career Teacher, providing everything from curriculum design to classroom setup, student engagement to discipline strategies. You'll gain the tools to foster a love and comprehension of biology in young learners.
This program certifies you to teach students aged 11-16, covering both Key Stage 3 and 4. Upon completion, you'll receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Durham University and eligibility for Qualified Teacher Status. The QTS component is validated by Newcastle University and granted by the Department for Education.
