Our Master of Arts in Philosophy program offers the flexibility to deeply examine major philosophical traditions within an engaging academic setting, while demonstrating their practical application to modern global challenges.
This one-year full-time or two-year part-time program features two foundational courses: Philosophical Perspectives, which explores diverse philosophical approaches, analytical techniques, and various interpretations of philosophy, followed by the MA thesis. Elective modules cover diverse topics including determinism versus free will, philosophical applications in science and healthcare, cultural preservation, and corporate ethics.
Students can participate in numerous departmental activities, including EIDOS (the postgraduate philosophy association)'s weekly reading circles, academic symposiums, specialized seminars, and the distinguished lecture series hosted by the Royal Institute of Philosophy.
For those pursuing doctoral studies, our dynamic research clusters focus on multiple disciplines including value theory, political philosophy, cognitive studies, linguistics, ontology, scientific philosophy, historical philosophical traditions, and women's contributions to philosophy throughout history.
