The BSc in Natural Sciences stands out as one of our most adaptable programs. This time-tested, rigorous yet fulfilling degree is perfect if your academic passions cover multiple disciplines with at least one scientific focus. It allows you to deepen your current interests while discovering new academic areas.
By studying across different fields, you'll develop comprehensive knowledge and versatile skills applicable across various industries, both within scientific sectors and broader professional fields. The program also serves as excellent preparation for advanced postgraduate studies.
This degree offers two distinct pathways: the BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences and the BSc Joint Honours. Both options provide the flexibility to switch to either the Year Abroad or Placement track following your second year, extending your program duration from three to four years.
Subjects are organized into three categories:
Group 1 comprises Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology. A minimum of 50% of your second and third-year studies must focus on Group 1 subjects, though not all combinations are available.
Group 2 incorporates Anthropology, Business, Economics, Geography, and Philosophy.
Group 3 features Sport and Education (excluding History of Art). These subjects are specific to the BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences pathway, with Group 2 and 3 subjects collectively limited to no more than half of your upper-year studies. Prospective students interested in Group 3 subjects should consult with the Natural Sciences Admissions Selector.
Detailed information about available subjects can be found on the Natural Sciences program website.
