You'll gain a comprehensive introduction to archaeology along with in-depth training in modern scientific methods for investigating history. Selected modules may qualify you for professional certification from the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.

Benefiting from cutting-edge lab equipment and instruction from top archaeological scientists, you'll master innovative techniques such as: DNA and isotopic studies, Geographic Information Systems, soil analysis, plant archaeology, and examining skeletal remains. Graduates emerge with both specialized archaeological research skills and versatile abilities applicable to various professions, including data handling, analytical reasoning, and effective communication.

Your learning progresses through core Scientific Methods in Archaeology courses, enhanced by specialized electives in Advanced Skills and focused archaeological topics. Interactive tutorials and hands-on lab sessions complement classroom instruction, helping you develop expertise in areas like ancient environments, climate history, human diets, population movements, health studies, human-animal relationships, dating methods, and artifact preservation.

All archaeology undergraduates participate in domestic or international excavations, contributing to departmental research while acquiring practical experience. The program concludes with an independent research project or thesis, completed under the mentorship of our faculty experts.

A level - AAB. BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma – DDD. International Baccalaureate score - 36 to include 665 in higher level subjects. Science A levels Applicants taking Science A levels that include a practical component will be required to take and pass this as a condition of entry. This applies only to applicants sitting A levels with an English examination board. Ielts - 6.5 with no component under 6.0 , TOEFL iBT - 92 with no component under 23
