Introduction
Senior Lecturer Nicky Harding explains the benefits of pursuing Interior Design at DMU.
This program encourages you to rethink current interior spaces and push boundaries to develop fresh, innovative environments. The curriculum emphasizes how people engage with these spaces, addressing factors like comfort, functionality, visual appeal, and emotional resonance.
Students will revitalize actual structures and locations, transforming them into dynamic venues for exhibitions, retail, entertainment, worship, dining, and social gatherings. The course also enhances visual communication techniques including sketching, 3D rendering, digital tools, video modeling, CAD, and VR technologies. Projects will tackle worldwide issues while prioritizing sustainable and inclusive design principles.
You'll cultivate your unique design approach and gain the ability to present creative concepts effectively. Our goal is to foster these competencies, preparing you to enter the professional world as a versatile designer with a comprehensive portfolio.
Program Length: Three years full-time, or four years including a placement year.
