This study re-examines and addresses the crucial global issue of combating and reducing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
The research has developed over many years as insights into SGBV's root causes have deepened. Various professionals - including government agencies, NGOs, educators, healthcare providers, safeguarding specialists, and law enforcement - have taken on more active roles in addressing SGBV's consequences. In response, policy frameworks have adapted to both the origins and outcomes of SGBV, implementing creative solutions to confront the problem.
This work has produced extensive research that questions traditional views on SGBV and pioneers novel approaches for working with impacted communities and service providers. The research primarily stems from a dedicated team within the Communities, Politics and Identities Research Group at CTPSR. Several initiatives have been spearheaded by Coventry University in partnership with other UK and international academic institutions, along with non-academic collaborators.
