The Centre for Postdigital Cultures is dedicated to fostering a fairer and more sustainable society beyond capitalism. By integrating concepts from open, disruptive, and immersive media, along with posthuman studies and the Anthropocene, we aim to assist 21st-century cultural institutions—such as galleries, archives, museums, and libraries—in addressing the challenges posed by the (post)digital era on global, national, and local scales.
Our approach involves an interdisciplinary research framework spanning computing, humanities, social sciences, open education, political activism, and artistic practice. This enables us to investigate how intellectual, communal, and civic collaboration can inspire new ways of coexisting.
Equipped with cutting-edge tools for immersive media—including 360-degree cameras, motion-capture bodysuits, VR headsets, and audio sunglasses—the Centre also provides a specialized studio for practice-based research projects.
