The CFCI combines our specialized knowledge in finance, economics, corporate governance, and legal studies to establish an ideal platform for investigating the interconnected and cross-disciplinary aspects of modern financial and economic challenges affecting international enterprises. As a postgraduate researcher at the Centre, you'll have the chance to collaborate with our faculty, join our dynamic PhD network, and showcase your work to broad audiences. The CFCI offers numerous initiatives for our PGR community, such as: 1) Networking Events: frequent gatherings centered on student experiences and professional connections; 2) CFCI Lecture Series: periodic sessions featuring presentations from members, global scholars, and guest speakers; and 3) Focused Research Workshops: specialized training in areas like quantitative methods and technical tools.

The LRC boasts a diverse team of globally recognized specialists in financial crime, international criminal law, and corporate oversight. As the foremost global research hub examining the criminal dimensions of tax offenses—with emphasis on behavioral factors—we generate interdisciplinary findings tailored for key stakeholders (e.g., EU, NATO, law enforcement, corporations, and legal professionals). Our research is impact-driven from inception, offering junior scholars and PGRs avenues for growth through cutting-edge, cross-border collaborations. Our work's excellence and real-world influence are reflected in publications and grants from esteemed bodies like ESRC and EU programs. Notably, our EU-funded PROTAX initiative has delivered measurable results across multiple nations, while our partnership with the City of London Police has advanced fraud investigation training for enforcement agencies.
