The CFCI combines our specialized knowledge in finance, economics, corporate governance, and legal studies to establish an ideal platform for investigating the interconnected and multidisciplinary aspects of modern financial and economic challenges affecting international enterprises. As a postgraduate researcher at the Centre, you'll have the chance to connect with our faculty, participate in our dynamic PhD community, and showcase your work to broad audiences. The CFCI offers numerous initiatives for our postgraduate research community, including: 1) Community-building events featuring networking and student experience discussions; 2) A regular seminar series (weekly or biweekly) with presentations by members, international scholars, and guest speakers; and 3) Specialized workshops covering topics like quantitative methodologies and technical skills.
A key research area examines (threshold or nonlinear) public goods like global commons, particularly climate change mitigation, exploring factors influencing participation and successful implementation. Another critical focus is cybersecurity - a growing challenge of immense importance. Current research in this field includes enhancing cyber protection for UK small businesses and charitable organizations.
