Earn a qualifying law degree in just two years instead of the standard three with our accelerated Graduate Entry LLB program, designed for non-law graduates taking their first steps into the legal profession. Select from specialized legal electives and gain practical experience through summer work placements. This intensive program covers core legal principles, including contract law, tort law, criminal law, and public law, delivering a thorough yet streamlined curriculum. You'll also build critical legal skills like research, analysis, problem-solving, and advocacy. Upon completing the GE LLB (Hons), you can advance to professional training—either the Solicitors’ Practice Programme (SPP) for future solicitors or Bar Vocational Studies (BVS) for aspiring barristers. This conversion course is perfect for those looking to switch careers into law.
Who is this course for?
This program suits high-achieving graduates from any discipline or country seeking a prestigious law qualification. It’s particularly beneficial for Canadian students, as it helps meet NCA requirements for legal practice in Canada. If you aim to practise law in the UK, the course fulfills the academic training needed for barristers in England and Wales. It’s also ideal for non-UK law graduates pursuing solicitor qualifications in England and Wales.
Career opportunities:
Graduates can progress toward legal practice in the UK by enrolling in the BVS for barristers or preparing for the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) through programs like our SPP. Canadian graduates must complete NCA exams. Alternatively, you may pursue an LLM at City or another UK university to specialize in a legal field or enter academia. Our alumni have also succeeded in finance, banking, and civil service roles. Enhance your skills through extracurricular activities like mooting or pro bono work via our LawIRL initiative.
A degree (in any subject), of at least a second-class honours standard, conferred by an institution in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland or by the Council for National Academic Awards.
