The School of Earth and Ocean Sciences offers postgraduate research programs focused on independent, full-time investigation under expert faculty supervision. Our well-funded research environment enables PhD and MPhil candidates to collaborate with leading specialists while utilizing cutting-edge equipment. Annually, we admit around 15 doctoral students who gain valuable experience through teaching opportunities, academic events, and professional development programs. According to the REF 2014 assessment, an impressive 94% of our research outputs achieved world-leading or internationally excellent status.
