Oral and Biomedical Sciences represents a specialized research field available within our Dentistry research programs (MPhil, PhD). We invite applications from students pursuing advanced degrees through research. Our department provides exceptional expertise and support across diverse research topics. Students can participate in dynamic research initiatives including: Tissue structure and function through extracellular matrix, Wound healing mechanisms, Mineralized tissue cell biology, Disease biomarkers, Microbial and biofilm studies, Bioactive polymeric materials, and Biomechanical engineering with finite element analysis.

Program durations: PhD - 3 years full-time, MPhil - 1 year full-time

Qualification Requirements

Suitable for graduates in scientific, clinical or engineering subjects, eg biosciences, chemistry, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy.

Applicants should normally hold a good honours degree, MSc or equivalent and be able to show research competence for master's or doctoral level entry.
For clinical programmes we require a minimum IELTS score of 7 overall (with a minimum score of 6 in each of the four sub-sections)
TOEFL (iBT) - At least 100 overall
International Baccalaureate (Language A) - HL 5 or SL 6
