Our Vision Sciences PhD program offers student-driven research spanning diverse fields, including molecular biology, neuroscience, and human vision clinical studies. This research-based doctorate at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences focuses on clearly defined investigative projects. Each candidate maintains frequent contact with their supervision team and benefits from an impartial advisor who oversees research progress and offers objective counsel. Beyond primary research, the School delivers comprehensive skills development training that enhances the Doctoral Academy curriculum. Suitable for graduates in optometry, medicine, psychology, social science, physics, biology, biochemistry, mathematics or any relevant scientific discipline.

A First or Upper Second class UK Honours degree, master's degree, or equivalent is required.

TOEFL (iBT) - At least 90 with minimum scores of 17 for writing, 17 for listening, 18 for reading and 20 for speaking
