This Master's program offers comprehensive training in international planning with a focus on urban design, equipping you with the expertise to meaningfully influence city management and design processes. In our increasingly urbanized world—where over half the global population resides in cities, a figure expected to rise in coming decades—the demand for skilled professionals has never been greater. Cities across Asia and the Global South face pressing urban challenges including overcrowding, pollution, infrastructure deficiencies, social inequalities, and governance issues. Governments and municipal authorities increasingly rely on urban planning and design specialists to analyze and address these complex problems. Our MSc in International Planning and Urban Design examines key urban dilemmas through the lens of planning theory and design practice, offering practical solutions. The program combines theoretical frameworks with hands-on professional training, preparing you to contribute effectively to urban development. Whether you aspire to work in public or private sector planning, NGOs, or pursue academic research, this course provides the necessary foundation.

Career opportunities - Graduates can pursue diverse roles in planning and urban design across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Potential career paths include policy development (covering urban planning, sustainable development, housing, and transportation), international development consultancy, project management, or advancing to doctoral studies for an academic career in urban research.
