The MSc in Data Intensive Physics equips students with essential skills for careers in academic research, technical roles, and engineering within scientific sectors. Instruction is provided by experts from our Data Innovation Research Institute, a center dedicated to advancing research in managing and interpreting large-scale textual and numerical datasets. A highlight of the program is a 3-month summer project, conducted either within our School of Physics and Astronomy or with external collaborators. This project applies contemporary data science techniques to physics-related challenges—such as photonics, biophotonics, or computational physics—offering practical experience crucial for success in Data Intensive Physics and broader data science applications.
