The MA in Broadcast Journalism is a rigorous one-year program that trains students in radio, television, and digital journalism platforms.

Our state-of-the-art TV and radio facilities provide practical training in content creation, production, and distribution. While we don't require applicants to be experienced journalists, you should show strong news awareness and demonstrate your dedication to the field through relevant work or internship experience, whether compensated or voluntary.

We seek candidates who stay informed about current affairs - regular consumption of broadcast news programs indicates the right mindset.

Your studies will be demanding yet fulfilling, potentially launching your media career in the UK. Recognizing industry demand for versatile, tech-savvy professionals who can work autonomously, we provide comprehensive digital production training to support your goals. The program includes a three-week professional placement to apply your learning in real-world settings.

Accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council, this course trains students for UK media careers. International applicants aiming to work in UK journalism are encouraged to apply, though those with global aspirations might consider our MA International Journalism instead.
Career outlook - Despite industry transformations, our graduates maintain strong employment rates, typically securing roles as broadcast journalists with regional broadcasters. Alumni now work with major outlets including BBC, ITV News, SKY, CNN, Reuters, Bloomberg, and Al Jazeera English. We've successfully launched hundreds of broadcasting careers, with many graduates now holding senior industry positions.
