Career opportunities
During the 2016/17 academic year, 95% of the School's employable graduates secured employment or continued education within six months of completing their studies. Political science degrees open doors to diverse career paths including NGO work, international development, corporate global operations, diplomatic services, media, and policy analysis, while also preparing students for advanced postgraduate studies. Economics provides intellectually challenging training, with graduates frequently sought after by both public and private sector employers. Some economics alumni pursue supplementary qualifications post-graduation, such as postgraduate degrees or professional conversion courses in fields like accounting or legal practice. Regardless of career direction, the competencies developed through economics studies (analytical reasoning, quantitative methods, problem-solving skills, etc.) are consistently valued in the job market.
