The joint honors degree allows you to explore both disciplines equally, with modules split between Welsh and English literary studies. The Welsh component focuses on modern Wales, taught by a research-excellent department, and develops comprehensive linguistic, literary, and cultural competencies alongside valuable career skills for contemporary Wales. You'll study core and optional modules to build foundational knowledge while specializing in areas aligned with your aspirations. The English Literature component spans from medieval texts to modern works, examining intersections with other art forms and cultural contexts. Though no modules are mandatory, you'll engage with diverse literary periods, styles, and critical approaches. Both subjects naturally complement each other through shared analytical methods, historical frameworks, and scholarly perspectives.
