The BSc (Hons) Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage (SCRAM) program at Cardiff Met equips students with fundamental knowledge and hands-on skills in strength and conditioning, sports rehabilitation, and massage therapy. The curriculum integrates essential sports science principles from physiology, psychology, and biomechanics, offering a comprehensive perspective on training methods, therapeutic exercise, and manual techniques for performance improvement and recovery.
Practical experience forms a core component, allowing students to implement their learning in professional environments while building valuable expertise for their careers.
The program aligns with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) standards, preparing graduates for professional accreditation. It also holds recognition from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) under their Education Recognition Program, supporting students pursuing CSCS certification. Additionally, the university offers standalone ITEC sports massage qualifications through specific course modules.
Flexible part-time study options extend up to eight years, with part-time students attending the same daytime modules (9am-6pm, weekdays) as full-time peers.
Duration Options:
Three years full-time or four years including a Foundation year.
Part-time students complete modules alongside full-time cohorts, primarily during weekday hours (9am-6pm).
