Makers encompass artists, designers, craftspeople, innovators, creatives, technologists, and more. They combine skilled craftsmanship with imaginative thinking to produce the items that define our environment.
Cardiff Met's BA Artist Designer Maker program places craftsmanship at its core. Students get practical experience with diverse materials ranging from metals, glass, and ceramics to wood and fabrics. The course teaches how to merge traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology, fostering innovative approaches for our rapidly evolving society.
Students cultivate their distinctive artistic voice while exploring their position within contemporary creative fields. Instruction comes from active professional artists, designers, and makers who share their expertise and enthusiasm.
Upon graduation, students will possess the ability to conceptualize, refine, and execute projects - whether functional products, decorative pieces, sculptures, or installations. As makers, they'll hold the power to shape what comes next.
Program Duration:
Three years full-time. Four years with an optional sandwich placement year.
