Our faculty members actively engage in pioneering research across diverse fields such as applied analysis, computational mathematics, continuum mechanics, mathematical physics, financial mathematics, operations research, and applied statistics. We tackle biologically and engineering-relevant challenges while exploring fundamental mathematical and phenomenological mechanisms. A key priority lies in advancing novel analytical, asymptotic, computational, and hybrid methodologies. Our investigations further span random matrix theory, quantum information science, mathematical quantum mechanics foundations, mesoscopic disordered systems, statistical mechanics, graph theory, matroid theory, as well as infinite-dimensional Riemannian geometry, algebraic geometry, and orthogonal polynomials.
Career Development and Future Prospects
Throughout your PhD studies and for three years post-graduation from Brunel, you'll benefit from personalized career guidance. We advocate for proactive career planning and personal growth management from your research's outset, particularly if your career direction remains undecided. Our career services encompass digital resources, individual advising sessions, and diverse events and workshops. The Professional Development Center organizes an annual schedule of career-focused activities including industry presentations, job fairs, employer meetups, and skill-building sessions. Furthermore, when opportunities arise, you may participate in compensated teaching or learning support roles, which we value as significant professional development experiences.
