The Brunel Mechanical Engineering MEng offers aspiring mechanical engineers an additional year of specialized study to enhance subject expertise, broaden capabilities, and accelerate progress toward chartered engineer status. Similar to our Mechanical Engineering BEng program, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge in core engineering sciences like solid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science, alongside product design, development, and manufacturing fundamentals. The curriculum also incorporates essential complementary fields including computing, electrical engineering, and electronics. Recognizing that mechanical engineers often progress into project and business management roles, you'll also explore management principles, ethics, finance, and legal aspects.

Choosing the placement option allows you to apply classroom learning in real-world settings while exploring potential career paths. Many students secure permanent positions with their placement employers after graduation.
