This program provides comprehensive knowledge of film and television through analysis of diverse contemporary productions across both mediums. You'll explore various genres, from Hong Kong cinema to Hollywood blockbusters, sci-fi, documentaries, and beyond. By combining this with English literature studies, you'll examine significant literary works from Renaissance classics to modern poetry, fiction, and drama while engaging with current academic discussions. The flexible curriculum encourages you to pursue your personal interests, with practical options becoming available after the first year - up to 40% of your modules can be hands-on, letting you apply theoretical knowledge creatively. Beyond classroom learning, you'll have opportunities to attend screenings at prestigious venues like the BFI and ICA, plus participate in our annual BUFF competition across multiple categories. These experiences help synthesize your practical and theoretical skills while showcasing your talents.
