The initial year introduces specialized terminology for film analysis and methods for studying cinema as both visual and auditory art. You'll explore pivotal movements in film history, learn fundamental concepts and theories, and examine intercultural exchanges across global film traditions.

During the second year, you'll delve into Hollywood's cinematic legacy and modern philosophical approaches to film studies.

In your final year, you can focus on personal interests by selecting from diverse specialized modules, including American indie films, surrealist cinema, or conflict in visual media. You'll also have the option to produce either a written thesis or a creative video essay/short film on a subject of your choosing.
