Led by faculty from our prestigious Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM), this program's curriculum has been designed with guidance from top UK intellectual property professionals. Created in partnership with The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, this course prepares students for legal careers in law firms, government agencies, or corporate settings specializing in intellectual property law. Gain expertise in national and international IP systems while exploring modern challenges at the intersection of IP and emerging technologies. Customize your studies with elective modules aligned with your professional goals. Qualified students may enroll in select units from the PGCert Intellectual Property program (note: the Copyright & Trade Marks or Patents & Design tracks are particularly suitable for practicing professionals). Upon completion, you'll be prepared for diverse roles such as Associate Director, In-House Counsel, judicial positions, or IP specialist roles in global law firms. As part of CIPPM's participation in the Pan-European Seal Program, eligible graduates can pursue 12-month paid traineeships at either the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) or European Patent Office (EPO).
