This unique program - among only a few in UK higher education that combines social anthropology modules with a primary focus on biological anthropology - establishes a solid framework for comprehending societal structures. Anthropology explores humanity: our shared traits as a species, and the biological and cultural variations among individuals and communities across different times and places. Through in-depth examination of humanity's dual biological/social characteristics throughout history - develop insights into human biological and cultural differences. Engage in practical laboratory sessions and fieldwork, all taught by distinguished scholars. Core study areas include anthropological theory, ethnographic research, cultural ecology, human-environment relationships, evolutionary biology, and technological development. Customize your learning by choosing modules from both biological and social anthropology as well as related fields, tailoring your education to personal interests and professional goals. Participate in either a five-week or extended 30-week placement to practice acquired skills while expanding your professional network and strengthening your resume. Remarkably, 80% of our graduates secure employment or continue their education within 15 months of completing their studies.
