You'll delve into the competencies and insights Geography provides at the secondary level, preparing to become a self-assured, innovative teacher who can make geographical concepts approachable for every student. You'll study learning processes and design engaging Geography activities that foster student growth and cultivate their geographical perspective.
By embracing an inclusive and comprehensive approach to Geography, you'll learn to shape the curriculum in ways that encourage geographical reasoning, inspiring students through immersive and thought-provoking explorations. This will be achieved by expanding your expertise in various teaching methodologies, helping pupils gain confidence and critical awareness about their world.
Our program collaborates with leading organizations like the Royal Geographical Society and the Geographical Association.
A standout aspect of the course is its fieldwork emphasis, which covers designing urban fieldwork projects locally and organizing residential trips focused on rural and physical Geography.
This 11-16 program, with post-16 enhancement, provides excellent prospects for a career in secondary education.

PLACEMENTS
School placements make up two-thirds of the course, offering diverse experiences across multiple educational settings.
You'll train in at least two different schools and observe others, including primary schools, gaining valuable insights into teaching practices and broadening your experience.
Serial and block placements are available, supported by trained mentors who will guide your development and provide constructive feedback.
