This program explores society's most hazardous criminals and their victims, covering investigative psychology techniques to aid law enforcement, psychological viewpoints on the Criminal Justice System, and forensic psychologists' roles across different environments. You'll acquire competencies that ready you for advanced training or postgraduate education.
The curriculum strengthens your research capabilities by instructing you in designing sophisticated studies, performing statistical evaluations, and assessing and documenting scientific results.
A primary objective is preparing you to collaborate with clients and experts in forensic contexts. With comprehensive understanding of crucial theoretical and practical aspects in forensic psychology, you'll develop both critical thinking about concepts and recognition of research limitations. The program blends psychological principles with hands-on skill development and professional practice insights.

Opportunities include visits to correctional facilities like HMP Birmingham, court attendance, and practical exercises in our mock courtroom.
We facilitate work placement connections, while the Center for Academic Success provides individualized and small-group tutoring in academic writing, study techniques, mathematics, statistics, software applications, and project management.
Alumni frequently secure positions in healthcare, nonprofit, and law enforcement sectors, including forensic psychology traineeships in prisons or mental health institutions. You may also pursue academic advancement through further research in higher education.
