Led by specialists in African, Asian, Atlantic, European and Middle Eastern histories, societies and cultures, our MA Global History: Empires, States and Cultures program will broaden and enhance your knowledge of world history by examining global viewpoints and connections across geographical and national borders. This program covers diverse themes in global history, including imperial systems, nation-states, post-colonial transitions, population movements, economic systems, environmental developments, and the cross-border exchange of ideas. You'll develop expansive thinking about relationships between various global historical approaches and conduct focused research on specific world regions, such as South and East Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and North America.

We offer a oneyear Graduate Certificate in History which can be used as a conversion course if you want to study history at postgraduate level but have a degree in a significantly different discipline
