Our BA History program provides an extensive selection of history courses spanning global events across millennia.
Our teaching is grounded in specialized knowledge. As one of the UK's rare history departments, we unite archaeologists, classicists, and historians covering all eras - from prehistoric civilizations to Ancient Greece through medieval, early modern, and contemporary societies. Our scholarly focus extends worldwide, examining Ancient Rome, medieval Armenia, modern China, India, Africa, Tudor England, Nazi Germany, and beyond. Alongside studying British, European, and world history - including themes of race, migration, gender, and sexuality - you can choose complementary modules in politics, international relations, literature, philosophy, and geography.
